Athenaeum Gives Application

 

Athenaeum Gives is a project where we give microgrants to cartoonists that are early in their careers. The funds can be used however the artists chooses - paying for art supplies, printing costs, part of their rent, etc. It is completely up to them! We hope that we can, at least a little, ease the economic burden for someone so that they can focus on their art. 

 

We are particularly interested in folks who are creating boundary challenging and socially conscious work. For this round, we are able to provide one 1500 dollar grant. We hope that we are able to give out additional grants in the future.

Notes for applicants:

• Applications are due by 11:59 EST on August 13th. 

• The awardee must have a PayPal or Venmo account for payment.

• We may choose future grant awardees from the application pool.

• Folks focusing on socially conscious and/or challenging work are encouraged to apply.

• We will showcase the awardee on our social media accounts.

• We hope to have some of our artists help judge submissions.
