Athenaeum Gives is a project where we give microgrants to cartoonists that are early in their careers. The funds can be used however the artists chooses - paying for art supplies, printing costs, part of their rent, etc. It is completely up to them! We hope that we can, at least a little, ease the economic burden for someone so that they can focus on their art.

We are particularly interested in folks who are creating boundary challenging and socially conscious work. For this round, we are able to provide two 1500 dollar grants. We hope that we are able to give out additional grants in the future.

If you are interested in contributing to future grants, please e-mail us at athenaeumcomicart@gmail.com. Since Athenaeum Comic Art LLC is not a nonprofit organization, the funds for the grant will be coordinated through our owner's personal account. In the future, the plan is to create a partner nonprofit organization specifically to continue this effort.

Past Grant Winners:

2022 - Daisy Ruiz

2022 - Leo Fox

2023 - Ezra David Mattes
